If you’re already certified, your Roatán port day is a chance to dive one of the best stretches of the Mesoamerican Reef — without the rush and crowds of a big ship-sponsored excursion. From our beachfront base in the Lower West End, you step off the sand and onto the boat, so more of your limited time is spent in the water and less on logistics.
How a cruise-day dive works
We build the day backwards from your all-aboard time, not your docking time. Tell us your ship, your port (Coxen Hole or Isla Tropicale), and your in/out times, and we’ll recommend a one- or two-tank plan with a comfortable buffer for the 20–30 minute taxi back to the pier. Most certified guests have time for a relaxed two-tank morning and still make it back with room to spare.
What to bring from the ship
- Your certification card (a digital card on your phone is fine)
- A logbook if you have one, plus swimwear and a towel
- Reef-safe sun protection and any personal gear you prefer (mask, computer)
We supply tanks, weights, and quality rental gear, so you can travel light off the ship. If it’s been a while since your last dive, ask about a quick refresher.
Where you’ll dive
Conditions and timing decide the sites, but cruise-day divers often visit our home reef at Blue Channel, the West End Wall, or the El Águila wreck. Browse the full list of dive sites we visit to see what’s on offer.
Not certified yet? You can still dive on your stop with a Try Scuba / Discover Scuba experience — no experience needed. Bringing family who don’t dive? They can join the cruise beach day while you’re on the reef.
Dive Roatán on Your Port Day
Send us your ship name and port times and we'll plan a small-group dive with plenty of buffer to get you back aboard.
