Always wanted to try scuba? A Roatán cruise stop is the perfect place to take your first breaths underwater. Our Discover Scuba Diving experience (a “Try Dive”) is built for complete beginners — no certification and no prior experience needed — and it’s run in the calm, clear, shallow water right off our Lower West End beach.
What the experience involves
An instructor walks you through the basics on land and in shallow water, then guides you on a gentle first dive on a nearby reef. You’re with a professional the whole time, going at your pace. It’s relaxed, safe, and genuinely unforgettable — most people surface grinning.

Fitting it into your port day
As with any cruise excursion, timing matters. Tell us your ship, your port (Coxen Hole or Isla Tropicale), and your in/out times, and we’ll confirm whether Discover Scuba fits with a safe buffer to get back to the pier — and, if not, suggest a snorkel or beach day instead.
Loved it and want to keep going? Discover Scuba can count toward your full Open Water certification, and once you’re certified you can join fun dives on future stops. Travelling with non-divers? They can relax on the cruise beach day while you dive.
