The Odyssey is the biggest wreck on Roatán — a roughly 300-foot freighter sitting upright in Sandy Bay. Her size means wide, open cargo holds and decks you can swim through with plenty of room, making for a genuinely impressive wreck dive without needing technical training.
Because of where she sits, the Odyssey is weather-dependent — when the wind and swell are up, the site can be unsafe to dive, so we'll call it on the day and switch to a sheltered site if needed. When she's on, she's one of the most rewarding dives in West End's reach.
When conditions allow, we usually run the Odyssey as the first, deeper dive of the morning and follow it with a calm reef for your second tank. Her sheer scale — decks, holds, and railings all draped in marine life — makes her an unforgettable dive and a brilliant subject for wide-angle photography.
